The Gambia Action Party (GAP) was founded in 2016 by Hon. Musa Ousainou Yali Batchilly to create a platform that champions unity, justice, and development. GAP emerged at a defining moment in The Gambia’s democratic history, with the mission of restoring trust, accountability, and hope in leadership.
Our party stands for inclusive governance, ensuring that every Gambian, regardless of background, tribe, or status, has a voice in shaping the nation’s future.
To build a just, prosperous, and united Gambia where governance is transparent, resources are managed responsibly, and every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.
- Promote good governance, equity, and justice.
- Empower youth and women as key drivers of national development.
- Drive economic growth through innovation, sustainable agriculture, and responsible resource management.
- Strengthen international partnerships to make The Gambia a model of democracy and peace.
A Blueprint for a New Gambia
We will foster a Gambia where tribal, regional, and political divisions are replaced with unity, mutual respect, and national pride. GAP is committed to building a culture of peace, dialogue, and social harmony across all sectors.
Young people are the heartbeat of our nation. GAP will invest in youth through vocational training, entrepreneurship programs, digital innovation hubs, sports, and civic engagement platforms that equip them to lead and thrive.
Women are the pillars of our society. We will promote equal access to education, leadership, and economic opportunities for women, and implement legal protections against gender-based violence and discrimination.
We will restore trust in government through transparency, open data, anti-corruption enforcement, and inclusive public participation. Our leadership is built on truth, integrity, and service.
We will modernize agriculture to reduce imports, empower farmers, and achieve food self-sufficiency. GAP will provide access to tools, training, storage, and markets, especially for rural communities.
We will improve roads, electricity, water supply, and digital connectivity to bridge development gaps between urban and rural areas. GAP believes infrastructure is a right, not a privilege.
